Welcome to travelfor.art!
My name is Anna Znaenok, and I am an art historian and author. My journey into the art world didn’t begin in a gallery, but rather in the fast-paced environment of journalism. After graduating from the Faculty of Journalism at Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU), I spent years working across major media platforms to translation projects for massive global events.
Journalism taught me how to ask deep questions, uncover hidden narratives, and translate complex ideas into stories that connect with real people.
However, my deepest passion always pulled me toward visual history. I earned my Master’s degree in Art History from the St. Petersburg Humanitarian University.
Today, as an active researcher, my academic work frequently takes me to international conferences (from Saint Petersburg to New York University, Cambridge Uni and European cultural institutes) where I speak on the intersection of art history and cultural authenticity.
For me, art is never isolated within a frame; it is a living reflection of history, identity, and place.
The Philosophy of TravelFor.Art
TravelFor.Art is the culmination of my dual lives as a writer and an art historian. Now based under the Mediterranean sun in Mallorca, Spain, I built this space to champion a radical alternative to the rushed ‘checklist’ tourism of the modern age. I invite you to step away from the crowded blockbuster exhibitions, put down the digital distractions, and join me in practicing Slow Travel. Together, we will observe the hidden details of urban architecture, reflect on the deep historical and social weight behind global masterpieces, and slow down enough to let culture genuinely change our perspective.
